Healthcare Career Summer Camp (HCSC): This is a 5 day camp held at USD each June. This year’s camp begins the afternoon of Sunday, June 17th and ends around noon on Friday, June 22th. The HCSC is basically a “crash course” for participants to learn about as many different careers in healthcare as will fit into this short amount of time. We will tour Sanford Medical Center and Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls, the Sanford School of Medicine’s Gross Anatomy Lab and everyone will have the opportunity to become certified in CPR. We have room for 40 campers and they must be entering grades 10 -12 in the fall of 2018. (Including seniors who will be graduating this spring). Due to the popularity of this camp, the application process has become increasingly more competitive. Students will need to submit an application, personal statement (consists of 4 questions on page 2 of the application), a copy of their school transcripts and the signature of their parent/guardian and school counselor. You do not need to write a letter of recommendation. The total cost for this camp is $100 and includes all room, board and transportation during the camp. There are a limited number of scholarship available and transportation can be provided if needed. This camp is open to all students in South Dakota. http://www.usd.edu/medicine/healthcare-careers-summer-camp APPLICATIONS ARE DUE APRIL 1st, 2018.
